Using the guides

Stitch Tuner provides general information about machine embroidery. Machines differ by brand, model and firmware, and your manufacturer's instructions take priority over any general guide. Always switch off your machine before cleaning, changing needles, removing covers or clearing jams, and leave internal adjustments such as hook timing to a qualified technician unless your manual says otherwise.

No warranty

We work hard to keep content accurate and current, but it is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for damage to machines, materials or projects resulting from use of the information or tools on this site. Test settings on scrap fabric before stitching on a finished garment or a customer's item.

Tools and calculators

Results from our tools are estimates based on stated assumptions. Thread usage, run time and similar figures vary with your machine, design and materials.

Text, diagrams, charts and tools on this site are owned by Stitch Tuner. You may link to any page and quote short excerpts with attribution. Please do not republish whole guides or charts without permission. Product and brand names are trademarks of their respective owners and are used only to identify products.
